Neither one of these is 'her'.

Reader R. W. from Odessa, Ukraine, writes: "Alf, return to your roots! We want to hear and see more about corkscrews."
Fair enough! The question for the day: Should corkscrews be framed or should they be just tossed into drawers?
What does this Irish Wolfhound have in common with Watcharee's Florida driver's license?
This Father's Day card will only be of interest to several hundred people worldwide (International Correspondence of Corkscrew Addicts ... Canadian Corkscrew Collector's Club ... Patpong Corkscrew Club ... Helix Scandinavica ... Club Français du Tire-Bouchon ... The German Club of Corkscrew Friends ... A.I.C.C. The Italian Corkscrew Collector's Club ... and Just For Openers).
Later today ... God be willing ... I'll try to capture some more beach bunnies.
"Peaches Records and Tapes" died a long time ago. It was a record store that tried to make the transition to tapes (it chose 8-tracks); but it never made it to CDs. Long ago, when vinyl was still king, some of the then Big Name bands stamped their feet and hands and wit into the concrete in front of the store: Kansas, Peter Frampton, The Righteous Brothers, The Michael Stanley Band and a few other even-more now forgotten groups.
THOCBDC did a little blurb on the place a year or two ago when Peaches was still in that limbo-land between an abandoned shop and a derelict building. But, the 'fingerprints' of the then-great were still there in sharp relief ... even if there was some litter between the letters.
Today THOCBDC noticed that the place (Peaches) is now being turned into something else: a restaurant, a car dealer, an adult book shop ... maybe, even a CD shop. Who knows. Anyway, the 'old names' are still in the concrete outside the place ... but, today's workmen ... the guys who are renovating the place ... treat it as just a sidewalk. Maybe it will just wear away ... like the memory of those once Big Names.
"Alf, it's not the Avenue of the Stars!"
This beach bunny knows that she looks great ... (in real life she is a near 10). Her friend is contrastingly and significantly (but not drastically) less than that ultimate double digit. But, all of this cohort business is a young girl thing; at least in the case of beautiful teen girls and their tactical choice with whom they decide to chum around in public places:
THOCBDC again features one particular Beach Bunny (*).
(*) Some readers have felt that a cornucopia of bunnies is just too much.
PS: Reader Bull writes in reply to the question: "What does this Irish Wolfhound have in common with Watcharee's Florida driver's license?"
He's listed on her driver's license as "seeing eye dog"?
No.
He ate her driver's license.
No.
In the next few days I plan to mail out the paper version of my Best Six for 2004 to all members of the ICCA. Simultaneously I'll e-mail copies of what you see here to all of those same ICCA members.
In the mean time here is the midnight showing:

BEST SIX FOR 2004 Dear Fellow Corkscrew Addict: Enclosed is the photograph of my Best Six for 2004; all of the corkscrews are marked:
This Best Six, along with all of my earlier ones ... dating from 1978 ... can be seen at my corkscrew web site: http://www.corkscrew-balloon.com/cork/index.html. Sincerely, Alf PS: We hope to see you in Stockholm; but much depends upon the timing of our US Immigration interview…Watcharee's 'Green Card' is our first priority this year. PPS: The paper version has an egregious spelling mistake. Can you spot it? |
Next: July in Florida
